In the past I spent some time volunteering at the local animal shelter. But, after the third Beagle adoption, I had to step back and evaluate my weakness to adopt floppy-eared fur children. Mostly because I was in the process of adopting myself right off the sofa.
Camp Cliffview was born out of a desire to engage children with special needs in an outdoor realm so they could truly experience the aspects of nature through building confidence and overcoming obstacles.

I still wanted to volunteer my time in some way, using my strengths and in areas I love. So, when the opportunity presented itself to be a volunteer photographer at a children’s summer camp, I immediately emailed the coordinator to get my name on the list!
The camp was Camp Cliffview and it was amazing! I enjoyed it so much that I signed up for the second round of this year’s camp sessions.
I’m fond of capturing moments where people are in action having fun. The chance to catch shots of the campers working together, the determination on their faces while climbing a rock wall, and the bright smiles as they were gliding down the zipline was an incredible experience. Volunteering what you love is extremely rewarding!
There were four photographers for each of the two camp sessions. The videos below contain some of the photos we all captured during the two days of camps.
